WHY JUSTICE IS GLOBAL?
People across the world are suffering because of decades of trade deals and policies that
put corporate profits before working people. Economic and political inequality have risen sharply.
This has opened a Pandora’s Box of far right nationalism and climate change.
Over the last 40 years working people’s lives in the developed world have gotten worse.
They’re working harder and longer for the same pay.
At the same time, globally, elites are steadily making more
money at the expense of everybody else.
FAR RIGHT NATIONALISM
Right wing movements are channeling this suffering into a
destructive blend of racism and economic nationalism.
AND THEY’RE WINNING ACROSS THE GLOBE.
"Multiculturalism is the cohabitation of people of various civilizations, the coexistence of Islam, Asian religions and Christianity. We will do everything under our power to spare Hungary from this."
VIKTOR ORBANPrime Minister, Hungary
"We are being submerged by a flood of immigrants that are sweeping all before them. There are prayers in the street, cafes that ban women and young women who get threatening looks if they wear a skirt. I will say when I become president that this is not the French way... If we carry on like this, the whole of France will become a gigantic no-go zone... A multicultural society is a society that has multiple conflicts."
MARINE LE PENPresident of the National Rally, France
“There is no doubt. I would perform a coup on the same day. [Congress] doesn’t work. And I am sure that at least 90 percent of the population would celebrate and applaud because it doesn’t work. The Congress today is useless ... let’s do the coup already. Let’s go straight to the dictatorship.”
President of Brazil
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi down-played the massacre of 2,000 Muslims in Gujarat as then-head of the regional government and his Bharatiya Janata Party, comes out of a right wing paramilitary Hindu Nationalism volunteer organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
And our planet is hurtling towards environmental disaster
because of inequality and a political elite that is unable to act.
